Project Process Overview
Phase 1: Exploration and Engagement
January to March 2024
- Community Listening: Conduct in-depth community and partner engagement session to gather insights and visions for the future of Quispamsis
- Research and Review: Study current demographics, assess existing conditions, and review relevant planning documents and by-laws to understand where the Town currently stands.
- Vision Crafting: Synthesize findings to outline a preliminary community shared vision that reflects community aspirations and needs.
Phase 2: Turning Vision into Action
April to May 2024
- Framework Development: Present a draft framework for land use, housing strategies and zoning regulations based on Phase 1 insights
- Community Feedback: Invite the community to review the draft framework, providing opportunities for feedback through workshops, surveys and public open houses.
- Revise and Refine: Integrate community feedback to refine and adjust the draft framework, making sure it aligns with the renewed community vision for Quispamsis.
Phase 3: Finalization and Adoption
June to July 2024
- Regulatory Review: Undertake the necessary regulatory approvals process to ensure the proposed plans meet all legal and procedural requirements
- Public Hearing: Host a formal public hearing, offering a final opportunity for community input on the proposed Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law Updates.
- Council Adoption: Present the final versions to Town Council for official adoption, marking the beginning of the new generation of building and development in Quispamsis.
